    Chapter 10 – Tuesday – Daniel’s Test and Marilyn’s Visit

Bette:  Yes, I would like one. When we are thinking about our charitable donations, I would like to do something to support Whittington Elementary and their students. Thank you.

Store Proprietor:  Now will this be cash or credit.

Bette:  I don’t carry that much cash around. I believe it will be credit card.

Store Proprietor:  I do not have very many cash and customers. I believe cash is simply not fashionable.

Bette laughed.  The proprietor ran the card after bagging up all the clothes. He then offered to help her and Daniel carry the bags to the car.  He then thanked them both for their business and invited them to come back anytime.

Daniel:  Wow… that’s done. That was actually fun.  I usually do not enjoy shopping. But that was fun.

Bette:  Well, the store proprietor enjoyed waiting on you. So, it was pleasant for both of you. Daniel, could you get out your tablet and do me a favor?

Daniel:  Sure, what do you need?

Bette:  Find out how long it will take to drive from Malibu to Whittington Elementary School? You know we are probably going to be living with Aunt Helena until we find our home.

Daniel:  Okay…let’s see. Wow! It says that it takes one hour and four minutes.

    Bette:  Really? Is that right?

Daniel:  Yeah. Now I do not know Aunt Helena address so it could be off about 5 minutes or so.

Bette:  Okay.  So how long does it take to drive from Malibu to Santa Monica?

    Daniel:  Any place in particular?

Bette:  Look up a retail store called The Sofa Store. Measure to there.

Daniel:  Okay… it says it takes 35 minutes.

Bette:  Wow… that’s not bad at all.

Daniel:  So, your estimate of taking two hours or two hours and half to get to school was a bit off, wasn’t it?

Bette:  Yep! And I think I may have upset your mom with that incorrect information. So, I need to correct that right away. I can’t let her go to bed upset based on wrong information.

Daniel:  So, what’s this Sofa Store about?

Bette:  Just an idea I am mulling around. I’ll let you know when it becomes a plan. Daniel, do you think that you would be okay with taking an hour and ten minutes to get to school each day and again to get home?

    1. Thank you… another chapter coming soon.. Couple of days…

As to the growth? I always imagined that as time passed, Bette and Tina would grow more in tuned with each other. They would grow to accept the other for who they were and their idiosyncrasies would become less bothersome for that is what defines them. As they become more knowledgeable of their mate, and more accepting of who they are, the more at peace they would become with themselves and the life they had chosen.
