Chapter 10 – Tuesday – Daniel’s Test and Marilyn’s Visit
Daniel: Yeah, I think that would be okay. I could do some reading or even take nap in the afternoon. Besides, I would be with you. We could catch up on our day.
Bette: Yeah, we could. I think that is no so bad. I just don’t want you to spend an excessive amount of time being in the car. But since UCLA and Whittington are so close together, I think we could work it out that you could have some after-school activity every day and I could still pick you up from school. Of course, that means I will be arriving at school fairly early. Maybe I will have my office hours in the morning when I do not have classes to teach. I’ll work it out.
Daniel: Yeah, remember mom, it took 30 minutes to get to my school in New York. So, an hour is not that much more.
Bette: Yeah, I just have to figure out the route with the least amount of traffic. That may take some trial and error. If I can avoid the freeways, we might can do the route in a little less time. But I am feeling a lot better about how much of our lives we are going to be spending in our car.
Daniel: Yeah, me too.
Daniel and Bette arrived home and hauled the bags upstairs to his room. Bette rounded up a batch of hangers and told Dan to remove the tags and put his new clothes away. She reminded him that they would be moving to Helena’s in three weeks so store them like he would in his permanent home. Bette then went down stairs to begin making their dinner of a salad with a generous serving of spaghetti with meat sauce. There would be ice cream for dessert. Bette made a generous salad and had everything ready in about 30 minutes. She then called Dan on his cell to tell him the food was ready.
Daniel: Wow, that was fast. I’m not quite finished putting away all those clothes.
Bette: Well, I’ll help you if you are still at it after I clean the kitchen up. I also want to do a couple of loads of laundry tonight too. We need to be caught up on laundry by Thursday night. I don’t want Tina to come home to a house full of dirty laundry.

Excellent chapter. Enjoying the growth in Bette and Tina & the family. Post soon!
Thank you… another chapter coming soon.. Couple of days…
As to the growth? I always imagined that as time passed, Bette and Tina would grow more in tuned with each other. They would grow to accept the other for who they were and their idiosyncrasies would become less bothersome for that is what defines them. As they become more knowledgeable of their mate, and more accepting of who they are, the more at peace they would become with themselves and the life they had chosen.
