    Children of the Night Ch6

Two trains had come and gone, Carmen was beginning to worry that her plan was gone wrong.  She walked out of her hiding place to get a better look in case she missed Shane.   There was no sight of her and the next train was approaching.

Doors opened, and Carmen felt someone wrapped around her from behind.

“Did you miss me?”  A familiar voice whispered into her ear.

Carmen smiled and said, “I was worried that you maybe caught by the security guard!”

“I knew you would be waiting for me here, so I took a taxi.  You didn’t see that coming, did you?”  Shane smirked.

“You exceed my expectation, Shane.  So what do you want me to do now?  You caught me.”  Carmen said.

“You are going to have a taste of your own medicine.”  Shane said evilly as she took her wallet out and placed it inside Carmen’s jacket.

“No, you wouldn’t dare!!”  Carmen tried to struggle but Shane held her close.   She was being dragged towards a police officer stationed at the platform.

“Sir, I caught a pickpocket in action.  She took my wallet!”  Shane told the policeman.

The policeman looked at the pair and Carmen was still struggling to free herself.

“I didn’t do anything!”  Carmen protested.

“Miss, please empty your pocket and handbag.”  The officer ordered Carmen.

Carmen pushed Shane backwards a few steps and starred at her for a few moments.   Shane starred back and determined that she wasn’t going to let her win this time.

The officer repeated his statement to Carmen and she finally opened her handbag.  She slowly took an item out at a time.  She was relieved that she didn’t had a gun with her today otherwise Shane would have screwed her badly.  There were keys, her own wallet, lipstick, mirror and a peppermint spray.

“It’s in her jacket, officer.”  Shane was being impatient of Carmen’s delay tactic.

“I will get to it. Please let me do my job.”  The officer told Shane calmly.

“See, nothing in here.”  Carmen smiled innocently to the officer.
