                “How did you manage this?” asked Tina irately, slapping the counter and looking as if she were ready to take on the world, bare handed.

     

                “I didn’t do it,” snapped back Bette, looking up from her Blackberry, grumbling that she was having trouble connecting and getting gobbled messages from the college.

     

                “I wasn’t talking to you, Porter,” growled Tina, turning her head and giving Bette a hot look.

     

                They were standing in a small airport, about an hours’ flight outside of Hope’s Corner.  Their small aircraft had been having engine problems, so they had to land.  Everyone else had left Boston before them.  Bette had talked Tina into going for lunch at a small place she’d been to before.  Their impromptu lunch caused them to arrive late at the airport and they had to take another flight, thinking that they had plenty of time to arrive in Hope’s Corner. They were both irritated that they we on a different flight from their friends, but Tina was beyond angry that they were going to be late.

     

                “Ma’am, I promise we’ll have it fixed in a few hours,” said the man, who was standing in front of her.

     

                “A few hours?  In a few hours the opening of a movie, that I produced mind you, will be starting.  I have to be there.  Now don’t you dare tell me you don’t have another plane that could fly us there.  I have a difficult time imagining that, that aircraft out there, is the sole craft you have that flies?” stated Tina.  “The Wright Brothers had more than one plane, are you trying to tell me  you only have one?”

     

                Bette tried not to laugh.  Tina’s cheeks were bright red with anger, but Bette seemed to be taking it in stride.  “It’s just the sound track party, Tina, it’s ok.”

     

                “It isn’t!”

     

                “Look who is controlling now,” chided Bette, in a soft voice. 

     

                Tina turned, giving her a cold and deadly look, “Do you mind?”

     

                Bette put her hands up in surrender, mouthing the words, ‘I’m Sorry’ to the young man behind the desk.

    5. well, well Janet…who would have figured you for such a soft, sweet romantic?? Loved the chapter, definitely worth the wait, as always!! Had to read it twice to fully savor your brilliance. The songs were perfectly woven through the story. Love is certainly in the air… looks like a mad dash to the alter for the lovely couples. Fun to see Ro back for Alice. Also loved the appearance of alpha Tina…so hot… but can’t believe you actually left off where you did! pout…Tease! Can’t wait for the next chapter. Have a good week.

As for the awards, I would like to see every writer who has the courage to post have that equal acknowledgement. In the famous words of my wife, suck it up and just accept it!!! LMAOOO!

    8. Damn, Janet. That was really good. So much going on, and Spencer’s lyrics weaving in and out amongst it all. Shane and Lara are really just… I love em. They’re cute, they’re funny, they’re sexy… It’s a winner all round. And they’ve already moved into that old wise and married stage, and like, faster than a speeding bullet! …Al & Ro! They took way longer to break up than they did to make up, but marriage? The heart wants what it wants, and they’ve got it. Good on em, I say! Bette… I wish Kit was there to see her sister making it. Seems like B & T are meant to be… but we’ll see, shall we? I’m still waiting for that sackful of pennies to drop. The optimist in me sees everything working out, though. Helena, Paige; Shane & Lara; Al & Ro; B&T; Jo & Amy?; Spencer & Riley. Anyway, thank you for the post, JM. Cheers
