“You could drive! It’s only a two and a half hour drive, if you don’t mind driving. You’ll get there before the plane would. I can get your luggage and have a car ready in under 30 minutes, if you’d like?” he asked, hopefully.
“Fine!” blared Tina.
Thirty minutes later, Tina and Bette were in a small Toyota, speeding up the two lane highway. Tina behind the wheel, complaining about the wipers not working well, and that the heater was only pushing out lukewarm air.
“This is a change,” said Bette, staring out the window.
“Meaning?” asked Tina, with a snort.
“Usually, I’d be the one to drive,” stated Bette.
“Usually I’d let you,” said Tina quickly. “But you can’t follow directions to save your life. Remember when we got lost in Florida? I wanted to die. I’d never seen you lie like that before. “I know where I’m going, Tee,” you kept telling me. “It’s right over this hill, Tee,” ”
Bette laughed, “I did know where I was going, out of my mind! I didn’t want you thinking I was an idiot, so I pretended to know where I was going,” admitted Bette. “You have a CD? I can’t find a decent radio station.”
“Oh, the soundtrack is in that small bag behind my seat,” said a now calmer Tina, thoughts of the comfortable past replaying in her mind.
Bette found the CD after a moment of leaning over the seat. Tina cast a look at Bette, pulling her gaze away as Bette’s shirt rose up and revealed her flat stomach. Clearing her throat and looking back at the road.
“How many songs does Quin have on the disc?” asked Bette, as she fumbled the CD out of the bag.
“Three, one alone, where she sings and two with Spencer, Daisy and Sydney, who, by the way, finally named their band, Jades Stars,” said Tina, with a grin.
Bette laughed, “Nice take, I wonder who came up with it,” said Bette, slipping the disc into the CD player, and praying that it worked, willing to bet that if the CD player didn’t work, Tina was going to turn around and hurt that young man working at the service desk of the airport. A heavy riffed beat came thumping through the Toyota’s speakers.

How could you leave it with Tina and Bette just disappearing.I hope at least they went to bed together and not to sleep.
That was beautifully done now where have our girls scampered off to, hopefully to start taking that next chance and see where it takes them.
that was great I just hope that u have at least one or two more chapters for this as I feel that there is stll a bit more to write about if so please soon if not what a great story I have love every part of it thank you so much for writing it

well, well Janet…who would have figured you for such a soft, sweet romantic?? Loved the chapter, definitely worth the wait, as always!! Had to read it twice to fully savor your brilliance. The songs were perfectly woven through the story. Love is certainly in the air… looks like a mad dash to the alter for the lovely couples. Fun to see Ro back for Alice. Also loved the appearance of alpha Tina…so hot… but can’t believe you actually left off where you did! pout…Tease! Can’t wait for the next chapter. Have a good week.

Damn, Janet. That was really good. So much going on, and Spencer’s lyrics weaving in and out amongst it all. Shane and Lara are really just… I love em. They’re cute, they’re funny, they’re sexy… It’s a winner all round. And they’ve already moved into that old wise and married stage, and like, faster than a speeding bullet! …Al & Ro! They took way longer to break up than they did to make up, but marriage? The heart wants what it wants, and they’ve got it. Good on em, I say! Bette… I wish Kit was there to see her sister making it. Seems like B & T are meant to be… but we’ll see, shall we? I’m still waiting for that sackful of pennies to drop. The optimist in me sees everything working out, though.
