    Forever Friends Ch. 23

“Are you serious Al?  Remember when Dr. Kelly said that while she was in the coma she couldn’t talk to us but she could hear us?”  Alice nodded her head still confused about what Shane was saying.  “Think about it.  The first nightmare she said she kept hearing and seeing you upset.  You didn’t want her to go and saying you couldn’t live without her.  She said at first she was walking away then she stopped walking away but couldn’t walk toward you either.”  Alice continued to nod.  Dana didn’t really tell her about this nightmare so she was hearing parts of it for the first time now.  “She told me that the last time she had that nightmare even I was in it upset and that’s when it hit me.  Al, that nightmare is what she heard when she died.”  Shane waited for Alice to let everything she said sink in.  Alice’s eyes became puffy as the tears formed.  Shane pulled her into a hug.  “It’s okay.  You just need to talk to her because she’s having more dreams.”  Alice leaned back and looked at Shane confused.  “The dream she just had, what did she say?”

“She um…she um said…”  Alice was trying to remember, she was so surprised about the other dream that she forgot about the one Dana just had.  “Oh!  She um…she said I was arguing with someone and she could hear, but she couldn’t get me to shut up.”  Shane nodded.  “But I argued with a lot of people when she was in the coma, it could have been anyone.”

Shane looked at Alice and tried not to smack her in the back of the head for being clueless.  “I thought you were a fake blonde…”  Alice flipped Shane off.  “She said you were arguing about her…”  Alice nodded again.  “What was she doing when you ran in the bedroom?”

    “Sleeping.”

Shane let out a frustrated sigh.  “What else?”

“Um…holding her chest.”  Shane just stared at her.  “Wait!  She was holding her necklace.”  It was more of a question than a statement.

“Uh huh.”  Shane could almost see the lines forming as Alice slowly connected the dots.

“Oh shit!”  Alice ran her fingers through her hair.  “She heard the argument between me and…Lara.”  Alice whispered her name.

    1. Cougar, 5 months ago there was a Danish fanfic drought. At that time, I was a silence reader and tried to rally the writers and promised to comment as long as they write to show my support. I am just doing my lit†le part to keep Danish alive and I am more than happy to do it. I used to have a piece of jewelry which was given to me by someone who was very dear to me. For years, I wore it and would not take it off. i could totally understand the rationale. FYI, S5E1 is still showing on ourchart.com. Back to this chapter, S ruled. The whole Yoda speech was great and necessary to knock some sense into A. I really wish they could open up and speak honestly. It must be so difficult for A to care for D with all the unresolved feelings. But i am sure that you will take good care of them. Thank you and pps.

    2. Hey just caught up your story and i think ur doing a great job, its so touching and emotional with drama, angst and comedy all wrapped in. The way you have Alice and Dana with each other is so sweet, you reli show there love well. Cant wait to see what happens next and hope you continue. :) PPS. x x

    3. Excellent update, cougar! So glad that Dana’s problem is not more serious — although I guess everything is serious when you are in the weakened state she is in. Love the touches of humor about Alice’s driving. Shane is smarter than I am. I didn’t realize what the dreams were. I hope the talk between the girls goes OK. Thanks and PPS!
