Laid Up: Another Season 3 – Chapter 29B

"Henry, if I didn’t want your kiss, I would have stopped."  Henry was on his back and Stephanie was next to him.  She lifted so that her lips could meet his again.  The peck was light, yet inviting.  Henry began to kiss her again.  Slowly, his hands lowered from her shoulder and upper back, to her waist and hip, then lower when Stephanie moved on top of him.  Stephanie was wearing jeans, too and a lime green Polo shirt.  His hand crept under the shirt, slowly moving it up to reveal soft skin that his hand slid over.

She held his face in between her hands and kissed him, then ran her fingers through his hair.  Again, things moved quickly.  She moved off of him, removed her shirt, unfastened her bra while he sat up and removed his Polo shirt.   He wanted her so badly and could feel the movement in his jeans.  He had also been told not to go down this road with her.  Henry, who had been staring at her breasts, closed his eyes, took a breath, and when he opened them, he looked away, off to the side.

    "What’s wrong?"

"I don’t want to do anything to jeopardize a friendship we’re trying to build, but. . . But you look so beautiful to me and I’m not going to lie to you, Steph, all I do is think about you.  I don’t want you with anyone but me.  And I-I-I don’t want you to feel so rushed that you don’t want me near you.  Maybe I should go," he said without conviction.

"No, don’t.  Stay."  Her hand caressed his hairy chest.  His body was so warm and soft there and she felt safe in his arms.  She leaned in, kissed him again.  "Stay."

Their half nude bodies rubbed against each other and it felt wonderful to Stephanie.  She hadn’t had any sex in over two months, before treatment, before her arrest, before she and Henry had argued and broken up.  She knew she wasn’t supposed to be doing this now according to the rules and suggestions from the treatment center, but she needed this sort of touch to make her feel complete.  She thought then, that Tina might have been right.  Stephanie felt like she had more in common with Henry than Peter and their earlier talk about God and religion answered some questions for her.  He wasn’t anti-faith and that had been her main concern.  She wondered if their differences could be worked out and that he could be molded into exactly the man she wanted.  Henry was ninety percent the man she wanted.  It was gratitude more than anything else that was keeping her hanging on to Peter–he wasn’t going after her for the money she had stolen and had in fact told her if she needed more it was hers.  Was that enough to hold a relationship together?  His kindness and her gratitude?  But did she desire Henry because he was kind?  She decided to let nature take its course.

    1. ‘ she looked at Tina and playfully accused, “Cougar.” ‘ – LOL – Tina certainly has come a long way from the first pages of ‘Laid Up’. – PortiaO, Thank you very much for producing all those wonderful pages!

    2. OH MY FUCKING GOD… that was … i have no words… i wish it didn’t end… that a scene i pray we see in the last eppy… loved it… and what a book you have here… it took a while to read… but i did…

    3. Wow, I don’t know what to say. The detail you give to each character and storyline is breathtaking. What a beautiful imagination you have. I love your writing so much that I even wanted Helena’s and Dylan’s past life story to never end :). I’m a little bit nervous that someting will happen to Shay before Shane can take custody. Who’s the mystery man at Alice and Dana’s wedding? A long lost relative of Alice’s? Wow, Bette and Tina, effing hot. Thank you so much for the update. Don’t be gone too long :)

    4. Portia… translating “thank you” into all the known languages on this planet wouldn’t be enough at this point. I know I type it, and I certainly mean it, but it lacks… I don’t know anything else to say but that, though. So, again, thank you. You manage to get everything in there, and I don’t know why, but the “Sweatin to the 80’s” line made me giggle, a lot. You have a very visual style of writing, I’m right there with the characters. I see them, hear them perfectly. I love the way you write, I love this story. Thanks (again) for sharing with us.

    5. Yes, you’ve got me googling folks that don’t exist. You’ve created an entire world, fleshed it out and populated it with people whose lives are fully integrated into it. You’ve made TLW, “Do what it (should)do”.

    6. I have totally been floored by this story!! this last chapter totally knocked my socks off!!! I’m so glad Bette had the change of heart about mo…. this should be really interesting! PPS

    7. I miss this story. :( It’s so awesome and realistic. And it shows so much growth in the characters while staying true to them at the same time. And the storylines are just fantastic. *sigh* Yeah, I miss this story.
