                “Is she dying?  For fucks sake, Sabrina!” bellowed Alice. 

     

                “Sabrina, you can’t tell them anything, they aren’t family.  I’m sorry,” said Sam, wheeling into the room and taking the chart from Sabrina.  “Legally, we can’t release any information on Miss Fairbank’s condition to any of you.  I’m sorry.”

     

                “I’m Dana’s power of attorney,” said Bette.  “Would that work?”

     

                Sam grimaced, the woman could be lying, but something about those ebony eyes didn’t seem to be lying to her.  “You’ll need to have that paper work here, and if I find out you duped me, it will not be pretty.”

     

                “Please, Samantha, Dana is a friend,” said Helena.  “If Bette says she’s the power of attorney, then she is.”

     

                Sam gave Helena a cool look, then she looked up at Sabrina.  “She gets you fired and now you’re friends with her?”

     

                “It’s a long story,” groaned Sabrina.  “I swear, I’ll tell you later.”

     

                Sam grunted and Shane chuckled, thinking that the woman with the scrub cap was cute.  Carmen glanced over at Shane with a smirk on her pretty lips.

     

                “The bullet partially severed her vertebrae, there are two possible outcomes.  She will be able to feel her legs, but she won’t be able to move them.  The second will be she will be able to move them, but will be unable to feel them,” said Sam.  “I suggest you call her family.  Dana’s going to have a very long road to recovery and she’s going to need everyone she can lean on.

                Kinna crappy, huh?  I know….  Can you just stick around, I mean, honestly, it does get better…  really!  It does!  What, you don’t believe me?

                Becca walked out of the room with Helena.  “This isn’t working out very well, is it?”

     

                “No, and mother is insistent on keeping me cut off.  I’m not even allowed on the premises of the studio.  Do you think I was wrong?  To want Tina back?” asked Helena.

     

                Becca grimaced, looking down at the floor.  “I think she’s great Helena, but I think you can do much better.  She has a family.  Do you want to be someone who breaks up a family?  I don’t want to be the one who breaks up a family, like mine was broken.”

    3. You have my Sam in this one also. It something about her that makes my heart beat a webit,heck a hell’ve lot faster.Enough of Sam Never Bette is not a maid, if Tina wants a babysitter and a maid hire one. she will lose Bette if she keeps on. With Dane willpower,never know what will happen Alice and Lara, I could see the them consoling each other but not sex. Bette was trying to help a friend or friend and she gets a bad a&& chewing from Tina. thanks bvh

    4. JR, yes it was 2 weeks and now you say we alternate between the 2 stories, so 2 weeks wait for each one. Damn it’s a ploy to get us to reread the previous chapter before the new one. Fabulous update….’nuff said!

    5. So much available to comment on…I am so bummed that Dana got shot, but hope that she takes Sam’s advice and goes after her life with gusto no matter what. Looks like both Tina and Bette need to put some serious work into their relationship. As usual, BRAVO!

    6. Great update JR!!! Loved the Australia reference. I never went to watch the Tennis….. TOO HOT!!!! Poor Dana. She is going to be miserable for quite some time, I am sure. SHane marrying!!! WOW. I hope she goes through with it. Post soon.

    7. As a long-term ER fan, I love the doctors who were on-call. ARGH! I was hoping it wouldn’t be Dana. And she is possibly paralyzed? Mark is an enormous prick. I can’t believe he would even think of selling the footage. There has to be a middle point for Bette between housewife and gunplay. Alice and Lara? Argh. On one hand I understand it, but, that is going to crush Dana when she finds out. Hopefully some of what Sam said to Dana sinks in. Thanks for another great chapter!!

    8. Wow there was A LOT going on here. First, Tina is truly well and pissed off by Bette’s involvement isn’t she? I still felt bad for Bette. She has a lot to think about right now. As for Shane asking Carmen to marry her, WOW! That was obviously done in the heat of the moment and out of emotion. Mark, well he was honorable and did the right thing. Let’s hope this begins a road to recovery with his sister. Great stuff Ro! MORE!
