                “Here?  Changing diapers, cooking for you, cleaning the house?  What am I, Tina?  Your maid?  Did you know we’ve made love twice since you had Angelica?  Twice?  You kiss me and it’s as if your mind is somewhere else,” Bette snapped back.

     

                “I have a lot on my plate right now, Bette.  I remember us going months without fucking when you were working and I was the one cleaning and cooking!” stormed Tina.

     

                Kit came into the room.  “You two are going to wake the baby, what is up?  How is Dana?”

     

                “That’s the question of the night, isn’t it?” asked Tina.  “You tell her, Bette.”

     

                Tina walked towards the table, grabbing her purse and leaving the house; tires screeching as she pulled out of the driveway.

     

                Bette sat down heavily, head in her hands, feeling the weight of the world resting on her shoulders.

                Shane felt the sweet touch of Carmen’s hand on her stomach. They were cuddled in bed, the sheet tangled between their legs.  As always, Shane had reverted to sex to wash away the sins of the day.

     

                “What are you thinking about?” asked Carmen softly.

     

                “That it could have been you,” said Shane softly.

     

                “That’s what I was thinking too,” whispered Carmen.

     

                “Will you marry me?” asked Shane.

     

                “What?” asked Carmen with an amused smile, rising on her elbow, staring at Shane.  “We can’t get married, it’s not legal.”

     

                “It is in Canada, or Mass.  I don’t care, I want to marry you,” said Shane steadfastly.  “I don’t ever want to lose you.”

     

                “My family….”

     

                “We’ll tell them together, me and you.  We’ll go over there tomorrow and sit them down and explain to ‘em.  It’s not about pussy or dick, it’s about love,” said Shane.  “Marry me?”

     

                Carmen let a bright smile explode over her features.  “Yes.”

     

                Shane kissed her hard, pushing her back on the bed and thinking that they’d start the honeymoon early.

    3. You have my Sam in this one also. It something about her that makes my heart beat a webit,heck a hell’ve lot faster.Enough of Sam Never Bette is not a maid, if Tina wants a babysitter and a maid hire one. she will lose Bette if she keeps on. With Dane willpower,never know what will happen Alice and Lara, I could see the them consoling each other but not sex.     4. JR, yes it was 2 weeks and now you say we alternate between the 2 stories, so 2 weeks wait for each one. Damn it’s a ploy to get us to reread the previous chapter before the new one. Fabulous update….’nuff said!

    5. So much available to comment on…I am so bummed that Dana got shot, but hope that she takes Sam’s advice and goes after her life with gusto no matter what. Looks like both Tina and Bette need to put some serious work into their relationship. As usual, BRAVO!

    6. Great update JR!!! Loved the Australia reference. I never went to watch the Tennis….. TOO HOT!!!! Poor Dana. She is going to be miserable for quite some time, I am sure. SHane marrying!!! WOW. I hope she goes through with it. Post soon.

    7. As a long-term ER fan, I love the doctors who were on-call. ARGH! I was hoping it wouldn’t be Dana. And she is possibly paralyzed? Mark is an enormous prick. I can’t believe he would even think of selling the footage. There has to be a middle point for Bette between housewife and gunplay. Alice and Lara? Argh. On one hand I understand it, but, that is going to crush Dana when she finds out. Hopefully some of what Sam said to Dana sinks in. Thanks for another great chapter!!

    8. Wow there was A LOT going on here. First, Tina is truly well and pissed off by Bette’s involvement isn’t she? I still felt bad for Bette. She has a lot to think about right now. As for Shane asking Carmen to marry her, WOW! That was obviously done in the heat of the moment and out of emotion. Mark, well he was honorable and did the right thing. Let’s hope this begins a road to recovery with his sister. Great stuff Ro! MORE!
