“MOMMY ! I want to GO NOW “
“Okay Angie – we do not shout in this house – we are polite at all times – please remember that. Lets move “
Bette grinned at Shane and walked to the front door. Tina took a couple of deep breaths and looked at Shane
“You will be fine – not sure how the two of you are going to cope in a few years time when Angie really starts speaking her mind “
Tina laughed “We know – have a good day – come and see Bette’s gallery if you get bored”
Tina was pretty sure that she had not felt this bad a few weeks ago when Angie had started school for the first time. She was certainly more nervous and there was a feeling of fear in the pit of her stomach that kept surfacing every-time she swallowed. Bette was aware of Tina’s fears and there was an unspoken awareness that the priority was not to transmit that anxiety to Angie. Bette and Angie were chatting about the kitten as they walked through the busy NY streets to reach the school gates.
The journey only took 15 minutes but to Tina it felt like a journey that was 3 times longer. When they arrived at the school gates the headmistress was “ casually “ standing beside the gates. Bette nodded at her
“Morning “
“Hello there – welcome back Angie “
“Hello Ms Holmes “
“Are you alright ?”
“Yes Ms Holmes “
“Why don’t you go and see your friends – Ralf has broke his arm and he wants everyone to sign his plaster – there isn’t much space left “
“Really ? cool “
“Are you going to say goodbye to your mommies ?”
Angie nodded and hugged Bette and then Tina. Tina held onto her – squeezing her tight
“MOMMY “
Angie struggled free of her mother
“Angie – what did I say to you about shouting ?” Bette said
“Sorry mommy “
“Say sorry to Tina and give her another hug “
Angie smiled and hugged Tina again. This time Tina released her daughter before she objected.
“See you later “ Angie said and ran off and was soon just another head among a crowd of kids who were the same age and height as her.

Thanks for the update AllyE. Great chapter. Hope that sister does not show her face anytime soon, in fact, hope those people leave the area period. Tina being with Bette for a few days will help her a lot and make her feel much more safe. Shane being with them will also help everyone feel safer, especially Tina. Congrats on reaching another milestone, that’s fantastic. Kudos.

Glad Angie is back at school with her little friends. The exchange between her and Shane was funny. Hopefully Tina fears are not warranted and her sister does not know where they live and if she does hopefully with Bette by her side, they will give he a beat down. You know all of a sudden I have a sinking feeling that Shane is going to accidently allow Tina’s sister into their lives. I will stay tune.
