The Greatest Love Story Ever Told
Bette cocked her head questioningly not entirely convinced by Tina’s statement or if in fact she wanted to take Helena up on her offer. She’d only finished school two weeks ago, the last nine months had been hard both emotionally and academically and yet she had still finished in the top 5%. In spite of her academic achievements she doubted if she was qualified to run a gallery even one as small as the one Helena had proudly shown off today.
“What I really want is for you to keep your promise” Bette said wanting to change the subject.
Tina walked over to the bookcase and removed a large hardback entitled The Complete Idiots Guide To Cooking from the shelf. Handing it to a confused Bette she smiled “Open it…..which I’m guessing will be the first time since I bought you it”
Bette lifted the hard back cover and laughed Tina had cut out the original pages and hidden the fruits of her labour over the last nine months inside.
“You know I have hunted everywhere for this” Bette removed the bound inch thick pile of hand written paper. “Why didn’t I think to look in the one place I never would have looked”
“As smart as you are Porter” Tina said placing a soft kiss on Bette’s lips “You sure can be a dumb ass” Tina chuckled and scarpered out Bette’s reach making her way towards the kitchen.
“Smart move Kinnard” Bette called after her before settling on their bed with Tina’s
safely guarded secret opus.
Tina heard the occasional outburst of laughter from the far end of the loft where their bed was situated, she smiled as she cleaned away the mess that was left from the dropped lasagne wondering which jotted memory caused Bette’s obvious mirth.
Once the kitchen was spic and span, she was pondering over a replacement dinner when she heard Bette’s tear fuelled sniffs, sighing softly she made her way over to the bedroom.
“Hey”
Bette lifter her tear stained face away from the pages and looked with awe towards Tina.
“Tina how did you do this….I still can’t think about them without by heart breaking ….I can’t even begin to imagine how difficult writing this must have been for you”

Well, it was a dynamite update ;) lol. Great as usual. lol@BB. Hope Skimmer Jr. the First feels better. Oh, and that he at least managed to get out of exams.
It’s been a long time coming :) Thanks for the new chapter.
Skimmy…sorry to hear of your son’s accident, but despite it all thsi was a wonderful chapter…I wasn’t bored at all. In fact I was sooo not bored that I’d like some more, so when you get a chance do you think you can squeak out another one???
By the way, a really good story isn’t just about the end, it’s the journey that is the most interesting. That’s why people are sad when a good story ends.
I’m happy that I may read this story. :o) Thanks, how you write it.
Hey Skimmer!!! Glad to see u updated, was wondering where you were at these days. Hope your son’s wrist gets better. Thanks again Skimmy.
its true we know the ending but the paths and choices in between are just as important. thanks
Brilliant, awesome update, Skimmer. We know they end up together but reading their journey thru the years is what’s amazing. Hope you’re son’s better. Thank you again. Love this story :)
