    “I knew after 30 minutes of being with you eight years ago that I wanted you Bette and I was straight and with Eric. I backed my gut instinct then and I’ll do it now “

     

     

    Tina stood up – her eyes alive with excitement.

     

     

    “ Have dinner with me , have breakfast with me, have lunch with me every day while you are here – stay another week – we can talk – isn’t it worth seeing if we can find a connection again ?”

     

     

     

    Bette laughed “Where the hell did this crazy streak come from ? “

     

    “From not seeing you in two years “

    Still hidden from where the two former lovers stood discussing their relationship Henry listened in disbelief to Tina – tears began to escape down his face. In an instant he knew he had lost her — that Tina would never really be his – he would always be a stand-in for Bette Porter. He was overwhelmed with a need to get away from this nest of perverts – he couldn’t be among all these dykes – he virtually ran out of the café.

    Bette smiled at Tina

     

     

    “Its not going to be easy “

     

     

    “Our relationship never was “

     

     

    “What if we cannot connect again ? “

    “In case you haven’t noticed I am slightly pregnant “

     

     

    “You are still my Bette Porter “

     

    “You have answer for everything don’t you ? “

     

     

    “Yeah – so accept it “

     

    “Okay – have dinner with me tonight at my hotel “

     

    “What time ? “

     

     

    “8pm “

     

    “Just the two of us “

     

    “The three of us “ Bette indicated her stomach.

     

     

    “Think he’ll mind if I spoil his mommy “

     

    “He doesn’t get a say in it “

     

     

    “I want you back “ Tina said softly.

     

    “What about Henry ? “

    “He’s a nice man — kind and gentle but “

     

     

    Tina shock her head – it was as if all her problems had been illuminated finally after months of stumbling in the dark.

    28. This story is delightful. Why is Bette being so reluctant? Does she have a sweetie or a potential one back in London? She has a good life in London and doesn’t want to give it up? Who knows if some other bloke will catch Tina’s eye? Can’t they just have mind-blowing sex and call it a day? LOL.
