    “I’m sorry babe I know I have been the worst girlfriend in the world lately and as soon as this shoot is over I will make it up to you I promise”

    “I will take that as a no for dinner this week” Bette fails to hide her disappointment

    “Bette you know it’s hard for me too……I would spend every night with you if I could”

    “You would” Bette takes her eyes off the road for a second looking at Tina for confirmation.

    “If I could”

    Bette recognizes this is her opening but they have reached their destination…it could wait till their walk, she had deliberately headed for the quiet end of the beach, it wasn’t packed but there was still a good few people about.

    They walked in silence for a couple of minutes until Bette was rendered immobile when Tina took her hand and was swinging it back and forth.

    “What’s up babe” Tina felt Bette stop dead in her tracks.

    “Tina….you….what….”

    “What….I”m just holding your hand” Tina stands in front of Bette and takes her other hand. “We can make out like horny teenagers on the sand if you want” Tina raises her brows suggestively.

    “Tina….that’s the first time…..”

    Tina silences Bette by kissing her ever so sweetly.

    “Bette I love you and I don’t care who knows it…in fact I want the whole world to know…. I LOVE….” Bette puts her hand over Tina’s mouth to shut her up and wrestles her to the ground.

    “Your crazy do you know that”

    “That’s what tiredness can do to a girl, but I see you’ve changed your mind about making out like horny teenagers”

    “T…can you be serious just for a minute I want to discuss something with you”

    Tina rests back on her elbows takes a deep breath and tries to stop smiling.

    “Ok serious”

    Bette clears her throat.

    “I’ve been thinking….ok I’m just going to put it out there and see what you think… we have been together for what about 6 months 2 weeks 4 days…..and I know that’s not long…..”

    “Wait…. you don’t know how many hours” Tina interrupted.

    Bette looks at her watch

    “ Actually I do…..11….you want me to tell you how many minutes”

    3. Ok, so it’s 12:09am, and I still have a ton of work to do. Clearly, tonight isn’t happening. In the future, Skimmer, please don’t subject me to the pressure of having Chicki check this site for my post, ok? I think I’ve wasted more of the last two hours trying to figure out if I was going to have time to write, which obviously resulted in no time to write :P Ok, back to work. I promise that I will write my next post before I go to sleep, even if it turns out the sun is rising. But only because you made me feel bad. :D XOX

    4. and yes, I do know it’s my fault for making promises on a public forum. But I’m going to blame it on you because… well, why not? You can’t cross the Atlantic and hurt me.

    7. I’m glad you reposted this cos I don’t think I ever got the chance to read chapters 13&14. I do remember how 12 ended though. Another thing with the chance to read the chapters back to back is to see how Tina is like, a bit withholding, to say the least. Bette’s a bit cranky, yeah, but Tina’s totally passive-aggressive. Maybe once they move in together some of that will get better? I hope so, but you said there’s only one chapter left?!? :( Skimmer, that chapter better be LONG. (I’ll take what I can get though). Thanks!
