Where You Go There You Are

But as quick as the thought came into her head it went.  It was something she would have to ask Angelica when she confronted her.  Saving the notion for later, brought Tina back around to Bette leaving her with one train of thought.  She knew whatever Angelica’s reason it is not Bette’s problem.  How dare she put forth an opinion like she advises Angelica everyday?  Tina felt her start to blood boil in a second flat.  Who did Bette think she was to step in now and think she could control this situation?  She felt she needed to make her back off and Tina first instinct was to used her anger to push Bette back.  There was no way she was going to let Bette step in now and take over.

The past now merged with the present and this statement was equally about both.  “Yes I appreciate all of you for pulling Angelica off the street but that doesn’t entitle any of you to lord over my daughter.  We have done just fine without all of your help up until now and we will do just fine after we leave.”

“What do you mean lord over her?  Tina I appreciate” Bette uses Tina’s word sarcastically, “that you have been the end all to be all to Angelica for years but that was a personal choice that you made without any input from me.”  Bette spits out then takes a deep breath in an effort to cool her flaring temper.  If she continued down this path there would be no returning.  Words would be said that she could never take back.  She needed to slow things down, get a grip to move this conversation to safer ground.  Running her hand through her hair the motion sooths her.  She needed to stay focused on the objective if they were going to arrive at any agreement.

When Tina goes to respond to Bette, Bette cuts her off by holding up her hand, palm out.  “Look Tina, there are many roads we can go down if you want but none of them will help you with your current situation with Angelica.  I think you need to take a look at what going on here.  Do you even know?  Why of all the places in the world has Angelica come to my home?  To the very place where you ran away from?  Is it because you told her about this place?”  Bette leaves this question hanging in the air.

    1. This is awesome. Tina really needs to step back a bit. What’s with all the high and mighty crap. Bette is only trying to help. Maybe when the three of them are together. Hopefully Tina will let Bette in and let her help.

    2. Oh Boy!!!!Jwet, 2 in one day, can we go for the hat trick?? It must have taken all Bette had not to throw a bucket of water on Tina. I could go on a big rant right now but the breaks are warn out so I might never stop. Thats all about good writing. Thank you. Md

    3. Seems your Weary Tina might be depressed herself… then again, who wouldn’t be crabby when her child is lost? Of course Bette can help, she understands all about ‘crabby’ moments herself ;-)

    4. We could all be hard on Tina, she has never had any problem with Angie,so I would feel the sae way Tina does. that someone had tryed to brainwash her. The first ones would be LA and one of the gang., Its so hard on a parent to have a child do something out of the norm. I would be so afraid, and angry until I could get to the root of the problen. The love is still there between them, thanks so much for posting twofer. thanks

    5. The darkness of Angelica’s soul is scaring Tina. She thinks that it is her darker side (evil or whatever) while Angelica is more concerned with her skin color. Thanks for the post.

    6. Yes, Tina has put off far too long that certain conversation with Angie about who she is and her other mother. For the life of me I don’t think this is the right time for that particular conversation either. She needs to first find out why Angie came to LA and not with her friend and her family. Angie was led by that girl to do something she never would have on her own and Tina needs to know this first and foremost. Then she can talk to her about everything else. Then they need to talk about tina and Angie moving to CA and living there for the support she would get with Bette and the gang which would be so very good for Angie and Tina too. I know, I know they have a lot of talking to do first before any of those decisions are made. Great post. If Tina starts on another diatribe Bette should walk her out to the pool and shove her in for a little wake up call. That might get her attention to shut up and listen. Thaks for posting both chapters so quickly. PPS

    7. You’ve got me on the edge of my seat, rereading every line, Jwet. The roller coaster of emotions you describe keep me enthralled with every chapter. Tina is such an unpredictable, raw nerve that I can’t imagine what will happen once Angelica is told of her mother’s relationship with Bette. Thanks for the double dip… feel free to repeat as often as you like!

    8. that was a nice treat, 2 posts. thank you and thanks to the emailer who got you to post twice. another one would be even a bigger surprise treat? ha, ha. Thank you for sharing your story; needless to say, I enjoy your stories; it keeps me sane among the insanity of the insurance world! It’s nice to see Bette and Tina actually communicating. Will they work on their own relationship? Will we get to see more of Alice?
