You Told Me You Love Me

Alice looked down at her hands and sigh. It has been 3 days but there’s still no sign of Dana waking up. She inhaled the fresh air as she was outside the hospital building. After staying in for 3 whole days, she thought of taking a walk at the hospital garden to clear her mind. She sat down on the bench and looked over at the small field, as she saw one family chatting and laughing at each other as they celebrate the birth of their new born child. She could see how happy the parents were by the way they cuddled their child, so as the grandparents and their friends. The sun was shining brightly and the flowers planted there were blooming beautifully. How lovely if Dana could come out and see herself these beautiful sight, she thought. As she was in her own world, she sensed someone tapped on her shoulder. She turned over and was surprised to see Lara before her.

    "Hi" Lara said softly.

"Hi" Alice motioned Lara to sit beside her as she patted the seat beside. Lara accepted the invitation immediately. As she settled down she looked at the happy family as what Alice’s did a while ago.

"How happy" Lara said almost in whisper.

Alice just nodded. She watched the family again before Lara broke the silence.

"I am glad that you came back to see her" Lara said softly.

"Yeah, but I kinda know it just three days ago" Alice said with teary eyes. Lara could tell that Alice was very sad.

"Please don’t blame your friends, this is what Dana wanted actually. She begged us not to tell you about her sickness, but as we see her deteriorating, we thought that it might not be fair to hide it from you anymore. At least you could see her before she…" Lara couldn’t continue as she tried to control her tears. Alice looked at Lara. She herself couldn’t help anymore as her tears were flowing down her cheeks when she saw Lara’s tears.

"Why? She hated me this much till she didn’t want me to know about it?" Alice said in between sobbing.

"No,Dana loves you very much, Alice. We all know about this."

"No, Dana loves you. She left me for you!" Alice raised her voice slightly.

    1. What an emotional chapter… Alice hearing about Dana wanting to protect her was difficult, but, I think it is good that she knows. Everything that happened at the airport was just heartbreaking. I hope that somehow Dana can find the will and strength to live so she and Alice can have a second chance. Sad story, but, you are doing a great job with it, uhhuh!!

    2. uhhuh, I am feeling much better now and I shall continue. I must have been in a bad spot and reacted sadly to your post. Excellent work. The plot is very convincing and like MaGoose said, “heartbreaking”. It was truly upsetting to read D watching A departing at the airport. It was even more distraught with the car park scene and I had total melt down when Lara revealed the truth. I felt very bad for D who had to live without the love of her life in her darkest days for 5+ months. I swear, if people just communicate better, things will not turn out to be so tragic. You also remind me to let those people I care about know often how much they mean to me. You never know what will happen next. Life is short. Thank you very much, uhhuh!!! Again, I beg you, have mercy on these two. They have suffered enough.
