    Alice met a mysterious person, and Shane recalled the scene she would remember for the rest of her life…………

    "You see Alice, that was Dana’s plan to break up with you. She faked a relationship with me so that you would be convinced that she left you for me. So that you would be heart broken and left her for good. Which you did" Lara could barely whisper the last sentence, all the while trying to avoid Alice’s gazed.

    Alice was stunned of what she heard. She couldn’t believe it. She covered her face with her hands and cried.

    "No!This is not true" Alice cried.

    "It’s the truth Alice. Dana loves you very much. I saw Dana cried silently in her sleep almost every night after the break up.Her heart ached when she knew you had to rely on drugs to get rid of her.She blamed herself for having this cancer and not able to be there to protect you anymore. She was devastated by the fact that she couldn’t be the one who would grow old with you.." Lara bit her lips. She couldn’t continue anymore as she was now crying, her heart ached when she thought of the fact that Dana always loved Alice,and not her. She exhaled, and then closed her eyes, tears running down her cheek. Deep down she knew Dana loved the person before her, and she wanted Alice to know about it. She told herself that she would do anything for Dana, even if it caused her indignity, just like agreeing to be Dana’s girlfriend for her to break up with Alice.She composed herself.

    "Well, I guess I have said enough" Lara said as she stood up. Alice looked at her.

    "Will I see you around again?" Alice asked.

    "I hope so. But I will leave for Paris tonight" Lara leaned closer and kissed Alice’s forehead.

    "Good luck Alice" Lara tried to smile and patted Alice’s shoulder before she turned and walked away. Although her heart still ached thinking she would never be Dana’s soul mate but she prayed that Dana would wake up one day and be with Alice again.They were meant to be together.

    Alice just looked at Lara’s direction. She could tell that Lara was heart broken.

    "I’m sorry Lara" Alice could barely whispered.

    Back at the ICU room, Alice walked over to sit beside Dana. Her heart ached looking at Dana. Not like the healthy and strong Dana she meet 7 years ago, she thought. Her complexion was pale, her body was tiny which shown that she had lost a lot of weight and her head was almost bald. She sighed as she caressed Dana’s cheek.

    1. What an emotional chapter… Alice hearing about Dana wanting to protect her was difficult, but, I think it is good that she knows. Everything that happened at the airport was just heartbreaking. I hope that somehow Dana can find the will and strength to live so she and Alice can have a second chance. Sad story, but, you are doing a great job with it, uhhuh!!

    2. uhhuh, I am feeling much better now and I shall continue. I must have been in a bad spot and reacted sadly to your post. Excellent work. The plot is very convincing and like MaGoose said, “heartbreaking”. It was truly upsetting to read D watching A departing at the airport. It was even more distraught with the car park scene and I had total melt down when Lara revealed the truth. I felt very bad for D who had to live without the love of her life in her darkest days for 5+ months. I swear, if people just communicate better, things will not turn out to be so tragic. You also remind me to let those people I care about know often how much they mean to me. You never know what will happen next. Life is short. Thank you very much, uhhuh!!! Again, I beg you, have mercy on these two. They have suffered enough.
