Laid Up: Another Season 3 – Chapter 29B

I looked at you and smiled.  I believed you were telling me that you felt love for me.  ‘Is this love?’

‘It’s what I’ve heard.  I feel what they call love, but I’ve never felt it before.’

Imagine neither one of us had ever known love, but in less than twenty-four hours, we had discovered a true love?  You reached over to me, kissed my fingers and opened my hand.  ‘You have scratches, too.’

I didn’t answer.  It wasn’t the scratches that stung so, but the instant recall of your lips against my skin.  I leaned forward, closed my eyes, and though I didn’t know the words for love or passion, what we did next came naturally.”

“And what was it?” Dylan asked so softly.

“You still don’t remember?”  Helena looked down at her; she saw it clearly.  Lips to sensitive hands became lips against lips and slowly, skittishly, these two individuals’ mouths were united in a kiss that would be remembered throughout the ages, if only in the faintest, most obscure, way; if only as a glorious, blink-of-the-eye vision, that first passionate kiss would be remembered.

“You know, as strange as it sounds, it’s coming back to me.”  Dylan reached up and pulled Helena down for a long, tender kiss.  Unhurriedly, she turned and moved onto her knees where she kissed Helena’s hands and looked at her as if she were pulling the memory from the darkest recesses of her own spirit’s recall (but that, perhaps was merely wishful thinking on Helena’s part).  Dylan lay beside her.  They lay side-by-side, their heads turned toward each other, foreheads touching, both thinking about this story.  Dylan felt the ache in her heart.  She had felt it even when she had been trying to deceive Helena back in California.  She knew about that ache that had turned into a full-fledged, never-ending, burgeoning, yearning for her.  Every minute of the day she wanted her.  She didn’t have to imagine how these two people felt, alone in their worlds, no outside distractions, just these unknown feelings turning into something familiar and no longer without a name.  It was love.  She felt it, too.

They kissed hard.  Helena’s tongue snaked from her mouth, filled Dylan’s as she pulled Dylan onto her, wrapped her arms around her and embraced her with devotion and desire.  Dylan lifted, slid her breasts against Helena’s, felt their nipples that had softened after the evening’s earlier lovemaking become rigid again as they connected over and over.  Helena moaned into her ear.  “I love you, Dylan.”    Dylan’s mouth was against Helena’s neck, sucking and licking, then back at her mouth, plunging and filling it with her tongue, then biting Helena’s bottom lip between her teeth, and kissing her hard again, while her hand caressed her face.  They stared into each other’s eyes.  Deep.  Getting lost and being found.    Helena panted as Dylan’s hand moved up while her mouth moved down.  She sucked on one of Helena’s hard nipples, then flicked her tongue over it, before sucking again.

    1. ‘ she looked at Tina and playfully accused, “Cougar.” ‘ – LOL – Tina certainly has come a long way from the first pages of ‘Laid Up’. – PortiaO, Thank you very much for producing all those wonderful pages!

    2. OH MY FUCKING GOD… that was … i have no words… i wish it didn’t end… that a scene i pray we see in the last eppy… loved it… and what a book you have here… it took a while to read… but i did…

    3. Wow, I don’t know what to say. The detail you give to each character and storyline is breathtaking. What a beautiful imagination you have. I love your writing so much that I even wanted Helena’s and Dylan’s past life story to never end :). I’m a little bit nervous that someting will happen to Shay before Shane can take custody. Who’s the mystery man at Alice and Dana’s wedding? A long lost relative of Alice’s? Wow, Bette and Tina, effing hot. Thank you so much for the update. Don’t be gone too long :)

    4. Portia… translating “thank you” into all the known languages on this planet wouldn’t be enough at this point. I know I type it, and I certainly mean it, but it lacks… I don’t know anything else to say but that, though. So, again, thank you. You manage to get everything in there, and I don’t know why, but the “Sweatin to the 80’s” line made me giggle, a lot. You have a very visual style of writing, I’m right there with the characters. I see them, hear them perfectly. I love the way you write, I love this story. Thanks (again) for sharing with us.

    5. Yes, you’ve got me googling folks that don’t exist. You’ve created an entire world, fleshed it out and populated it with people whose lives are fully integrated into it. You’ve made TLW, “Do what it (should)do”.

    6. I have totally been floored by this story!! this last chapter totally knocked my socks off!!! I’m so glad Bette had the change of heart about mo…. this should be really interesting! PPS

    7. I miss this story. :( It’s so awesome and realistic. And it shows so much growth in the characters while staying true to them at the same time. And the storylines are just fantastic. *sigh* Yeah, I miss this story.
