Laid Up: Another Season 3 – Chapter 29B
Bette watched Tina enter the café, then turned the car on and pulled out into traffic.
Inside the Planet, Kit was standing behind the counter and glanced up when the door opened. “Hey, Mama.” Kit gave Tina the once-over and grinned. ”Uh-uh-uh, look at you, Ma-ma,” Kit sang. “What are you plannin’ for my baby sis, tonight?”
Tina laughed. “Hi, Kit. I’m planning on doin’ exactly the same thing Bette’s planning. You should see what she has on.” Tina put the large tote bag filled with bottled breast milk, diapers, baby products, and wash clothes on a chair at the counter.
“Where’s Bette? I know girlfriend has it goin’ on.” Kit looked toward the door as she walked around the counter and held out her arms. She moved toward Angelica. “Here’s. . .“ She took the baby from Tina. “. . . my little Foxy Brown.” She kissed her niece on the top of her head, then on both cheeks while she held her.
Tina waved her arm, projecting a casual tone. “She drove over to the ATM. We’re running late, so we’re splitting duties.”
Kit nodded. “Is she comin’ back?” Kit asked, already sounding hurt.
“Well, we’ve really got to get to the cryobank and I booked reservations at this place and if we’re even five minutes late, we lose them. I think I’ll just meet her outside and we’ll get on with everything.” Tina was uncomfortable telling this little, white lie. “Angie, don’t we appreciate Aunt Kit. She’s doing us a big favor tonight so your mamas can have some alone time.”
Tina touched Kit lightly on the forearm. “Thanks, Kit. We love you.” She hoped that would reassure her in some way. She bent and kissed Angelica good-bye, too. “I love you, baby girl.”
Kit nodded again. Tina knew that Kit wasn’t feeling particularly loved by her sister.
“Bye.”
Kit smiled and took Angelica’s arm, waving her hand gently. “Bye-bye Mama Tee. Bye-bye. I’m gonna miss you.”
Tina turned at the door and glanced at her daughter before opening it to leave. She walked outside and stood waiting for Bette for a few minutes. The Lexus came down the street and Tina stepped off the curb. Once Bette pulled up to where Tina waited, Tina got in, fastened her seatbelt, and Bette took off. They were only five minutes from the cryobank, so they didn’t have time for a big discussion, but Tina didn’t want to ruin their romantic evening by bringing the topic up later.

‘ she looked at Tina and playfully accused, “Cougar.” ‘ – LOL – Tina certainly has come a long way from the first pages of ‘Laid Up’. – PortiaO, Thank you very much for producing all those wonderful pages!
I am awed. Incredible plotting, great pacing, wonderful imagery. And so hot. Thanks so much for this incredible chapter.

OH MY FUCKING GOD… that was … i have no words… i wish it didn’t end… that a scene i pray we see in the last eppy… loved it… and what a book you have here… it took a while to read… but i did…
Wow, I don’t know what to say. The detail you give to each character and storyline is breathtaking. What a beautiful imagination you have. I love your writing so much that I even wanted Helena’s and Dylan’s past life story to never end :). I’m a little bit nervous that someting will happen to Shay before Shane can take custody. Who’s the mystery man at Alice and Dana’s wedding? A long lost relative of Alice’s? Wow, Bette and Tina, effing hot. Thank you so much for the update. Don’t be gone too long :)
OMG!!!!!! I miss this story! Pretty please continue!
Wow I just finished reading. I agree with everyone. If you can please continue this.
Portia… translating “thank you” into all the known languages on this planet wouldn’t be enough at this point. I know I type it, and I certainly mean it, but it lacks… I don’t know anything else to say but that, though. So, again, thank you. You manage to get everything in there, and I don’t know why, but the “Sweatin to the 80’s” line made me giggle, a lot. You have a very visual style of writing, I’m right there with the characters. I see them, hear them perfectly. I love the way you write, I love this story. Thanks (again) for sharing with us.
What can I Say – wow – great update thank you so much.
A fan fiction timeline: In the beginning: Bring it all on. … After Portia: It’s done been broughten.
Yes, you’ve got me googling folks that don’t exist. You’ve created an entire world, fleshed it out and populated it with people whose lives are fully integrated into it. You’ve made TLW, “Do what it (should)do”.
I have totally been floored by this story!! this last chapter totally knocked my socks off!!! I’m so glad Bette had the change of heart about mo…. this should be really interesting! PPS
loved it!!!! pps
I miss this story. :( It’s so awesome and realistic. And it shows so much growth in the characters while staying true to them at the same time. And the storylines are just fantastic. *sigh* Yeah, I miss this story.
You have to finish this! I read this entire series in 6 weeks, and can’t wait to see what happens in the end. So much better than the show.
