Laid Up: Another Season 3 – Chapter 29B
“Tell them to see me after class next week.”
Bette left.

9:00pm (Majorca)
“Tell us a story, then.”
“A story?” Dylan asked. She was on her side and tracing her finger over Helena’s shoulder. They lay side-by-side in bed. “What kind of story?”
“Our story.” Helena’s hair was matted, skin still flushed and damp. The sheets were rumpled, a pillow on the floor, and one pillow on top of the other in the middle of the bed. “You’re a filmmaker.”
“You know our story,” Dylan said softly.
“Our first story?”
“We only have one—I met you, lied to you, fell in love with you, told you the truth, shattered everything we had, ran away, was found, fell in love all over again.” She smiled and kissed Helena’s shoulder.
“Ah, Dylan. The trite, oft-told tale of girl meets girl, girl loses girl, girl finds girl, girls live happily ever after.”
“I hope so,” Dylan said.
Helena blinked her eyes seductively at her partner. “Tell the story of the first time we met and the first time we made love.”
“At the film screening and at your beach house?” Dylan nodded her head as she spoke.
“No, before that.” Helena turned on her side. “Long before that.” She sniffed and exhaled. “Okay, I’ll tell you the story. Close your eyes and remember with me.” She scooted back, pressed her shoulders against the headboard and turned Dylan’s head and upper body so it rested in her lap. Helena’s voice was light and airy. “I see you’ve forgotten, but no worries, I remember it so well,” she said, beginning to formulate the story in her head. “First, I should say this might not be the first time we met, but it’s the first time I can recall.”
“Huh?”
“Hush. I know you pride yourself on being a skeptic, love, but I know that this is the truth. Listen. It’s called past life regression and I saw it with my own eyes and I remember it just like I recall any other memory I’ve ever had. I lived on a small island in a tiny, but sturdy hut. I don’t know where this was. I can’t even tell you what language I spoke, but for the purpose of me being able to absorb what I was seeing, I understood what was around me and what was being said in English.”

‘ she looked at Tina and playfully accused, “Cougar.” ‘ – LOL – Tina certainly has come a long way from the first pages of ‘Laid Up’. – PortiaO, Thank you very much for producing all those wonderful pages!
I am awed. Incredible plotting, great pacing, wonderful imagery. And so hot. Thanks so much for this incredible chapter.
excellent as always buddy…you’re the greatest of the greatest if that makes sense lol i love this fic pps!
OH MY FUCKING GOD… that was … i have no words… i wish it didn’t end… that a scene i pray we see in the last eppy… loved it… and what a book you have here… it took a while to read… but i did…
Wow, I don’t know what to say. The detail you give to each character and storyline is breathtaking. What a beautiful imagination you have. I love your writing so much that I even wanted Helena’s and Dylan’s past life story to never end :). I’m a little bit nervous that someting will happen to Shay before Shane can take custody. Who’s the mystery man at Alice and Dana’s wedding? A long lost relative of Alice’s? Wow, Bette and Tina, effing hot. Thank you so much for the update. Don’t be gone too long :)
OMG!!!!!! I miss this story! Pretty please continue!
Wow I just finished reading. I agree with everyone. If you can please continue this.
Portia… translating “thank you” into all the known languages on this planet wouldn’t be enough at this point. I know I type it, and I certainly mean it, but it lacks… I don’t know anything else to say but that, though. So, again, thank you. You manage to get everything in there, and I don’t know why, but the “Sweatin to the 80’s” line made me giggle, a lot. You have a very visual style of writing, I’m right there with the characters. I see them, hear them perfectly. I love the way you write, I love this story. Thanks (again) for sharing with us.
What can I Say – wow – great update thank you so much.
A fan fiction timeline: In the beginning: Bring it all on. … After Portia: It’s done been broughten.
Yes, you’ve got me googling folks that don’t exist. You’ve created an entire world, fleshed it out and populated it with people whose lives are fully integrated into it. You’ve made TLW, “Do what it (should)do”.
I have totally been floored by this story!! this last chapter totally knocked my socks off!!! I’m so glad Bette had the change of heart about mo…. this should be really interesting! PPS
loved it!!!! pps
I miss this story. :( It’s so awesome and realistic. And it shows so much growth in the characters while staying true to them at the same time. And the storylines are just fantastic. *sigh* Yeah, I miss this story.
You have to finish this! I read this entire series in 6 weeks, and can’t wait to see what happens in the end. So much better than the show.
