Laid Up: Another Season 3 – Chapter 29B

Dana chimed in.  “And then Lenore, we fly to Warsaw for the J&S Cup which isn’t big, but we want to see Alice’s ancestral homeland.” Dana grabbed Alice’s hand, squeezed it.

“Oh, honey, you must tell Isador.  He’ll love to hear that,” Lenore said about the old man.

    “Right.”

“So, this time next year, we’ll have been to the Middle East, Florida, Eastern Europe, Morocco, Italy, France, England, LA, New York, Connecticut, and Switzerland to name just a few.”

“You two certainly have your future mapped out.”

Dana and Alice looked at each and smiled conspiratorially.  They had other plans, too but weren’t prepared to share all with everyone just yet.

    7:45pm

Fifteen minutes earlier, Bette and Tina had been walked to their table in the courtyard of Il Cielo restaurant on Burton Way in Beverly Hills.  Every head turned as they moved through the restaurant–men were stunned into silence as the two lovely women moved to their seats.  The blonde was in front, leading the brunette.  They both looked fuckable with their long legs, flowing hair, perfect makeup.  The women in the restaurant had also watched them, admiring their clothing, the shoes, the clutch bags they carried.  Women wondered what their workout routine was; envied Bette’s non-Botox enhanced full lips and her well-toned arms and Tina’s muscular calves.  Both dresses showed plenty of back and their backs were flawless in every way.  The women patrons hated the two lesbians who walked through like they owned the place.

Bette had talked about trying this restaurant for years but they had never gotten around to it.  When Tina worked at Alphaville, she had been invited to take a lunch meeting here, but she had asked that they meet at her office in Burbank instead.  She wanted her first Il Cielo experience to be with Bette.  Even Helena had suggested it once and she said no.  Many people in Los Angeles considered Il Cielo to be the most romantic restaurant in the city.  Somehow sharing it with anyone other than Bette had been unthinkable–even when they were separated and headed for the end, Tina had decided that she’d never go if it couldn’t be with the woman she had called her first, last, and forever.

    1. ‘ she looked at Tina and playfully accused, “Cougar.” ‘ – LOL – Tina certainly has come a long way from the first pages of ‘Laid Up’. – PortiaO, Thank you very much for producing all those wonderful pages!

    2. OH MY FUCKING GOD… that was … i have no words… i wish it didn’t end… that a scene i pray we see in the last eppy… loved it… and what a book you have here… it took a while to read… but i did…

    3. Wow, I don’t know what to say. The detail you give to each character and storyline is breathtaking. What a beautiful imagination you have. I love your writing so much that I even wanted Helena’s and Dylan’s past life story to never end :). I’m a little bit nervous that someting will happen to Shay before Shane can take custody. Who’s the mystery man at Alice and Dana’s wedding? A long lost relative of Alice’s? Wow, Bette and Tina, effing hot. Thank you so much for the update. Don’t be gone too long :)

    4. Portia… translating “thank you” into all the known languages on this planet wouldn’t be enough at this point. I know I type it, and I certainly mean it, but it lacks… I don’t know anything else to say but that, though. So, again, thank you. You manage to get everything in there, and I don’t know why, but the “Sweatin to the 80’s” line made me giggle, a lot. You have a very visual style of writing, I’m right there with the characters. I see them, hear them perfectly. I love the way you write, I love this story. Thanks (again) for sharing with us.

    5. Yes, you’ve got me googling folks that don’t exist. You’ve created an entire world, fleshed it out and populated it with people whose lives are fully integrated into it. You’ve made TLW, “Do what it (should)do”.

    6. I have totally been floored by this story!! this last chapter totally knocked my socks off!!! I’m so glad Bette had the change of heart about mo…. this should be really interesting! PPS

    7. I miss this story. :( It’s so awesome and realistic. And it shows so much growth in the characters while staying true to them at the same time. And the storylines are just fantastic. *sigh* Yeah, I miss this story.
