Laid Up: Another Season 3 – Chapter 29B

    "Hi, Kit, it’s Mo."

"Hey little, bro.  How’s it going?"

He was excited.  "I called you at The Planet and they said you went home early.  Everything okay?"

"Yeah, yeah.  Angus and I are watching Angelica tonight, giving her Mamas some time alone.  How you doin’?"

"I’ve been listening to your cd all evening.  Thanks for overnighting it to me.  It is awesome!  Awesome, Kit.  I’ve put it on my iTunes on my computer and have been listening to it on repeat all night long.  I love it."

Kit pushed the speaker phone button.  "Yeah?"

"I’ve just been walking around my place saying, ‘that’s my sister.  Shit.  Shit.’  You are so great."

"Angus is here with me.  I’ve got you on speaker.  He did all of the guitar work on the cd."

"Hi, Angus.  I loved the riff you did on that one song, ‘Honey Melt My Honey.’  That was some bad ass shit, man."

    "Thanks, Mo."

"When is the official release date?  It’s so cool that I got an early release copy.  I bet those are rare."

Angus laughed.  "Are you going to put it up on Ebay?"

    "What?  No."

    "Joking, man."

"Oh.  I’m a little slow tonight."  Mo laughed loudly and for a bit too long.

“It drops on December first,” Kit said.  To Kit, Mo seemed overly exuberant.  "Have you been drinkin’?  You sound, I dunno know.  Happy?"

"I had a couple of fingers of whisky with Luisa earlier and we were sitting here talking and sharing a bottle of Pinot Noir.  Is that a problem?"

"No, I don’t mind.  If you can handle your liquor, ain’t no thang," Kit said.  "That’s funny, whenever Bette has a drink, it’s either whisky or wine, too."  She was constantly amazed by how these two people who hadn’t grown up together could have so much in common.

"I can handle it.  We’re just unwinding and listening to the mellow and not so mellow sounds of Kit Porter."

    Kit and Angus laughed.

"What does Bette think of it?" Mo asked.

"I haven’t had a chance to give it to her.  She’s been busy at work and we just. . . you know. . ."

    1. ‘ she looked at Tina and playfully accused, “Cougar.” ‘ – LOL – Tina certainly has come a long way from the first pages of ‘Laid Up’. – PortiaO, Thank you very much for producing all those wonderful pages!

    2. OH MY FUCKING GOD… that was … i have no words… i wish it didn’t end… that a scene i pray we see in the last eppy… loved it… and what a book you have here… it took a while to read… but i did…

    3. Wow, I don’t know what to say. The detail you give to each character and storyline is breathtaking. What a beautiful imagination you have. I love your writing so much that I even wanted Helena’s and Dylan’s past life story to never end :). I’m a little bit nervous that someting will happen to Shay before Shane can take custody. Who’s the mystery man at Alice and Dana’s wedding? A long lost relative of Alice’s? Wow, Bette and Tina, effing hot. Thank you so much for the update. Don’t be gone too long :)

    4. Portia… translating “thank you” into all the known languages on this planet wouldn’t be enough at this point. I know I type it, and I certainly mean it, but it lacks… I don’t know anything else to say but that, though. So, again, thank you. You manage to get everything in there, and I don’t know why, but the “Sweatin to the 80’s” line made me giggle, a lot. You have a very visual style of writing, I’m right there with the characters. I see them, hear them perfectly. I love the way you write, I love this story. Thanks (again) for sharing with us.

    5. Yes, you’ve got me googling folks that don’t exist. You’ve created an entire world, fleshed it out and populated it with people whose lives are fully integrated into it. You’ve made TLW, “Do what it (should)do”.

    6. I have totally been floored by this story!! this last chapter totally knocked my socks off!!! I’m so glad Bette had the change of heart about mo…. this should be really interesting! PPS

    7. I miss this story. :( It’s so awesome and realistic. And it shows so much growth in the characters while staying true to them at the same time. And the storylines are just fantastic. *sigh* Yeah, I miss this story.
