Laid Up: Another Season 3 – Chapter 29B

    Shane’s smile broadened.

"And two, my mom raised kids, her nieces and nephews, and her own younger sister in a house with my father and then two boyfriends and none of us ever heard her.  You’ve got to learn to be quiet."  Carmen advised.

"You definitely didn’t get the silent gene from your Moms.  You have yet to be quiet in bed.  Ever."

"I can be.  Remember, I have Native blood coursing in these veins.  We know how to move silently.  No one ever hears us approaching. "

"If I’m inside you, I want to know you’re approaching.  I need to know."

“Feel your way, baby.”  Carmen grinned at the flirting.  "Okay, we’ll send him on ‘Play Dates.’"

"He’s not a toddler.  I think that whole play date thing is for little kids."

Carmen leaned back against the headboard.  "Sleepovers, then.  Sleepovers."

"Hanging out at the park skateboarding," Shane suggested.

    "The Beverly Center’s food court?"

    "After school activities.  Soccer.  Swimming."

"Yeah, yeah, afterschool activities.  The three S’s.  Soccer and swimming for Shay; sex for us."

Shane pouted.  "So that’s what our life is gonna be?  Sex in the afternoon and the occasional night when he sleeps over at some other kid’s house?  Great."

"Parents have been dealing with it forever.  We can, too.  And when he goes to bed–we’ll have that time."

"God, this is really gonna fuck up our lives."

"Shane, I’m not complaining.  If you’re trying to get me to agree with you that this is gonna wreck what we’ve got, I’m not gonna.  It’s going to be a change, but Shay’s life will be fucked up if we don’t do this."

Shane nodded.  "So we’re doing the right thing, huh?  Right?"

Carmen nodded.  "We are, babe.  My mom will help us if we have problems."

"I’m not buying his jock and shit like that."

"You think I should.  I’m not even sure what goes in a jock–his dick, his balls, both?"

    "Job for your mom."

"Yeah or those gay guys down the street with the three little kids.  They could buy him his ‘boy’ things."

"Boy things in our house.  I’m freakin’, Carm.  I’m totally freakin’."

    1. ‘ she looked at Tina and playfully accused, “Cougar.” ‘ – LOL – Tina certainly has come a long way from the first pages of ‘Laid Up’. – PortiaO, Thank you very much for producing all those wonderful pages!

    2. OH MY FUCKING GOD… that was … i have no words… i wish it didn’t end… that a scene i pray we see in the last eppy… loved it… and what a book you have here… it took a while to read… but i did…

    3. Wow, I don’t know what to say. The detail you give to each character and storyline is breathtaking. What a beautiful imagination you have. I love your writing so much that I even wanted Helena’s and Dylan’s past life story to never end :). I’m a little bit nervous that someting will happen to Shay before Shane can take custody. Who’s the mystery man at Alice and Dana’s wedding? A long lost relative of Alice’s? Wow, Bette and Tina, effing hot. Thank you so much for the update. Don’t be gone too long :)

    4. Portia… translating “thank you” into all the known languages on this planet wouldn’t be enough at this point. I know I type it, and I certainly mean it, but it lacks… I don’t know anything else to say but that, though. So, again, thank you. You manage to get everything in there, and I don’t know why, but the “Sweatin to the 80’s” line made me giggle, a lot. You have a very visual style of writing, I’m right there with the characters. I see them, hear them perfectly. I love the way you write, I love this story. Thanks (again) for sharing with us.

    5. Yes, you’ve got me googling folks that don’t exist. You’ve created an entire world, fleshed it out and populated it with people whose lives are fully integrated into it. You’ve made TLW, “Do what it (should)do”.

    6. I have totally been floored by this story!! this last chapter totally knocked my socks off!!! I’m so glad Bette had the change of heart about mo…. this should be really interesting! PPS

    7. I miss this story. :( It’s so awesome and realistic. And it shows so much growth in the characters while staying true to them at the same time. And the storylines are just fantastic. *sigh* Yeah, I miss this story.
