Laid Up: Another Season 3 – Chapter 29B

Shane rolled her eyes, walked to the gate, and opened it for the two of them.  She glanced across the patio and saw that the bedroom was dark.  Their neighbors were probably sleeping.  Carmen sang, "I’m swimmin’ in the rain, just swimmin’ in the rain," as she lowered herself into the water.  "What a wonderful feelin’ I’m naked again.  I’m . . . blah-blah-blah-blah.  Just swimming and swimmin’ in the rain."

Shane swam over to her.  "We have to be quiet.  Bette and Tina might be asleep."

"Oh, right.  Right.  Ssh.  Be quiet.  I’d better kiss you to keep you quiet.  Come ‘ere, Shane.  Kiss me in the rain."

    * * * * *

Tina and Bette were locked in a long, heated kiss as they stood in the middle of their shower.  Tina pushed back.  "You know what?  I think we’ve made love more times in the past three or four months than we had in the last three or four years."

"What makes you so sure we’re heading in that direction tonight?"  Bette countered.

"Because of the way you’ve been looking at me for the past five hours."  She kissed Bette’s lips.  "Because of the way you touched the side of my breast when you were kissing me on the street–like I couldn’t feel that."

Bette’s smile started on one side, then slid across her face to the other.

"Because of how hard your nipples are right now," Tina continued as she tapped each one with her forefinger.

    "Yours are hard, too."

"Exactly.  Helps to prove my supposition," Tina said.  Her tongue caught between her teeth, the tiniest bit of pink staring back at Bette, just made Bette want to kiss her more.  "Are you wet?"

"I’m in the shower," Bette said, acting as if she had just answered Tina’s question.

    "Bette?"

    "Am I?"

Tina moved her hand down, between them, reached out, but Bette scooted back.  "You’re not going to let me."

    "I might."  She paused.  "Later."

Tina laughed to herself.  Bette thought she’d be controlling tonight.  That was funny.

The water beat down on them as they kissed deeply.  Tina broke away from the kiss again.  "It’s raining outside.  It’s really beginning to come down."

    1. ‘ she looked at Tina and playfully accused, “Cougar.” ‘ – LOL – Tina certainly has come a long way from the first pages of ‘Laid Up’. – PortiaO, Thank you very much for producing all those wonderful pages!

    2. OH MY FUCKING GOD… that was … i have no words… i wish it didn’t end… that a scene i pray we see in the last eppy… loved it… and what a book you have here… it took a while to read… but i did…

    3. Wow, I don’t know what to say. The detail you give to each character and storyline is breathtaking. What a beautiful imagination you have. I love your writing so much that I even wanted Helena’s and Dylan’s past life story to never end :). I’m a little bit nervous that someting will happen to Shay before Shane can take custody. Who’s the mystery man at Alice and Dana’s wedding? A long lost relative of Alice’s? Wow, Bette and Tina, effing hot. Thank you so much for the update. Don’t be gone too long :)

    4. Portia… translating “thank you” into all the known languages on this planet wouldn’t be enough at this point. I know I type it, and I certainly mean it, but it lacks… I don’t know anything else to say but that, though. So, again, thank you. You manage to get everything in there, and I don’t know why, but the “Sweatin to the 80’s” line made me giggle, a lot. You have a very visual style of writing, I’m right there with the characters. I see them, hear them perfectly. I love the way you write, I love this story. Thanks (again) for sharing with us.

    5. Yes, you’ve got me googling folks that don’t exist. You’ve created an entire world, fleshed it out and populated it with people whose lives are fully integrated into it. You’ve made TLW, “Do what it (should)do”.

    6. I have totally been floored by this story!! this last chapter totally knocked my socks off!!! I’m so glad Bette had the change of heart about mo…. this should be really interesting! PPS

    7. I miss this story. :( It’s so awesome and realistic. And it shows so much growth in the characters while staying true to them at the same time. And the storylines are just fantastic. *sigh* Yeah, I miss this story.
